ESL (Electronic Shelf Label) system is an electronic display label used by retailers for displaying product prices and other information on shelves, being able to replace traditional paper labels. Each electronic shelf label can be connected to POS systems database wirelessly , and as a result, the labels content can be updated automatically whenever the information is changed under the control of acentral server. With ESL system, retailers do not need to update the price labels manually, since POS information, ESL’s content such as other retail systems will be synchronized, realizing also the consistency of inventory data and storage location management, as well as a better visibility of product freshness and expiration date.
